Description

The carnitine palmitoyltransferase system is responsible for delivering the long-chain fatty acid from cytoplasm into mitochondria for oxidation, where carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (CPT1) catalyzes the rate-limiting step of fatty acid oxidation that plays an important role in lipid metabolism.
