Description
This diagram represents cardiac muscle. PFKFB2, PFKM and FBP2 reflect the cardiac/muscle context, with FBP2 used, not liver-associated FBP1. ADCY5 and ADCY6 represent major cardiac adenylyl cyclases. Other isoforms are relevant in other tissues, including ADCY9 in skeletal muscle. PKA has alternative catalytic (PRKACA/PRKACB) and regulatory (PRKAR1A/B, PRKAR2A/B) subunits; PRKACA and PRKAR2A are used here as a specific cardiac example.
